A few weeks ago, I booked a last minute getaway to the Dominican Republic. The weather was perfect! I over packed, of course, but spent every minute in a bikini. Isn't that the best part of a vacation?

I've recently added a few new products to my beauty bag and I'm kind of in love!

DIOR CREME DE ROSE SMOOTHING PLUMPING LIP BALM My girlfriend recommended this for hydration. You just need a little bit and you're good to go.
SKINCEUTICALS BLEMISH AND AGE DEFENSE SERUM I mix a few drops (4 to 5) in with my moisturizer. It's supposed to get under the skin to correct and prevent future breakouts.
BIO-OIL I know this is old news. I only recently started using it to minimize any stretch marks.
MAKE UP FOR EVER BROW SEAL This is the finishing touch for perfect, stay all day brows.

I've always been obsessed with having thick, voluminous lashes (and naturally, a hatred for tears). Here are my top three picks for the best mascaras:

If I was stranded on an island, YSL VOLUME EFFET FAUX CILS SHOCKING is something I would have to have! I carry an extra one in my purse, along with my SHU UEMERA EYELASH CURLER for touch-ups throughout the day.
I was surprised to find BENEFIT COSMETICS BAD GAL LASH WATERPROOF more voluminous than its original formula. I don't usually care much for waterproof makeup, but this was my go-to for many years.

The one mascara that's constantly winning reader's choice awards in all the magazines is DIORSHOW. I love it because it doesn't clump. The brush is ultra thick and easy to layer. Is it true that the average person applies 20 coats of mascara? Or am I totally insane?

HAPPY 2014!

I hope everyone enjoyed the holiday season! I was back to work pretty soon after, but I did get to spend some time with my family and friends. This year has seen me finally accomplish some major goals (and make some really big purchases). I did a little more traveling, I spent more time with family, I completed my undergrad (finally), I got a promotion...I felt like it flew by, probably because it was one of my busiest years yet! Let's see what 2014 brings!

NEW YEARS RESOLUTIONS I've never cared much for new years resolutions. I've always been of the mindset that you can start to do X, Y, Z any given day. I will say that I've started to make a conscious effort to be on my phone less (easy, I know) and spend more time with my family.

1. DEBORAH LIPPMAN Gel Lab is a polish duo that mimics shellac manicures and comes off with regular polish remover!
2. I'm slowly getting everyone addicted to LUCAS' PAPAW OINTMENT. It's the best for dry lips and skin.
3. Anna Dello Russo wrote a blog post about YSL La Laque in 2010 and ever since, I've rarely used anything else.
4. These lip pencils by BITE give gorgeous colour.
5. How can you live without a CLARISONIC? I use my Mia 2 everyday.

I loved the STREET STYLE BY VISA FASHION FIRST series with Pip Edwards. How fun is her job? I have to admit, I'm just as smitten by her accent as I am her fashion sense. Pip is a stylist, designer and creative director (DLM) who's style is edgy and effortless.

TRENDS It really is about the mix isn't it? My closet isn't overflowing with high end designers, but there's a good mix of investment pieces and cheaper, trendy ones.

I've been really into Australian fashion and I'm happy to see a lot of their designers/bloggers are finally getting recognized internationally.

I've had so many late nights this week and I am the worst morning person! I always have these things with me so I can rush out the door ASAP. I also love them for after work events, especially when you're so exhausted or you don't have a ton of time to change your look.

TIBI This black and white blazer will instantly dress up any outfit!

LUCAS' PAPAW OINTMENT I decided to give it a try while in Australia and now I always ask friends to ship it to me. It takes away any dry patches and gives your lips a bit of a shine.

YSL TOUCHE ECLAT Who doesn't love YSL's Touche Eclat? It is literally 8 hours of sleep in a stick. I apply a bit under the eyes, on the bridge of the nose and under the eyebrows.

MAC LIP PENCIL, CHERRY This is my must-have for any special occasion or when you want a pop of colour. I prefer to use the lip pencil rather than a lipstick because it seems to stay on much longer.

SHU UEMURA EYELASH CURLER If I can't do my makeup, I always make time to curl my lashes. It opens up your eyes and you look like you went to bed at a normal hour. I carry it everywhere!

CHRISTIAN LOUBOUTIN PIGALLE These are a classic shoe. Jeans and a t-shirt? No problem.
